The brief was for a simple modern house to suit an existing mature site which already had outline planning permission for a replacement dwelling. The design was driven by a strong desire to intepret and respond to the local built context while at the same time recognising a duty to behave towards the environment Full planning permission was successfully achieved in 2010. The result was a two storey south facing dwelling with a crafted approach to the admittance of natural light. Every aspect of the project was designed from landscaping through to interiors and a strong working relation with the client and contractor ensured an exceptionally well finished project. Construction was completed in October 2011.
