Our client had purchased this site with planning permission for a replacement house already in place and they approached us to redesign the house and requested that we improve the siting. After assessing the site we quickly realised it was not harnessing the full potential of the panoramic views of the surrounding countryside nor taking advantage of the sites natural features and orientation. We began redesigning the house and working on pre submission discussions with planning service. We successfully challenged the approval position and full planning for a new house design was granted in 2013. The completed design took its inspiration from the traditional vernacular cottage.
